Description
The Sunda pangolin is considered to be the most trafficked mammal in the world. Often thought of as a reptile, pangolins are actually mammals. They are covered in distinctive scales that ward off predators in the wild.
.
And because of their distinctive scales, the demand for their unique attributes drives them to near extinction. All eight species are categorized as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2014. It is illegal to trade, hunt, eat, or dismember a Pangolin.

About Our Process

For 3.5 billion people living below the poverty line, the flip flop remains the most affordable form of footwear. And as a result, most of them end up in the ocean.

Each year we aim to upcycle 1 million+ flip flops found washed up across the Kenyan beaches which our local artisans then turn into art.
